Nationwide Ban On Gas & Oil Boilers
The Big Ban! How Will It Affect You?
In this article we’re going to talk about the recently announced Ban On Gas & Oil Boilers in 2025, what its going to mean for New Builds and Renovations, along with people who currently have a Gas or Oil Boiler.
To begin, the Ban on Gas and Oil boilers isn’t as it sounds, to be clear it’s the ban on gas and oil boilers in New Builds.
What Does This Mean For Newbuilds?
For New Builds it means that you cant put in a Gas or Oil Boiler from 2025 onward, you will have to put in a renewable form of heating such as a Heat Pump.
But what will it mean for New Builds who are putting a new Boiler before 2025?
- Parts and repairmen might be harder to find as boilers are phased out.
- We will all have to inevitably make the change to renewables, however the government grant of up to £12,800 ends on April 2022
For New Builds, you’re going to have to heat your house one way or another, it only makes sense to take advantage of the current RHI scheme and let the Government pay for up to 70% of your Heat Pump!
“I Currently Have A Gas Or Oil Boiler, What Does This Mean For Me?”
Don’t worry! If you currently have a gas or oil boiler it doesn’t mean you have to replace your current heating system come 2025 when they’re banned. The Ban on Boilers only applies to New Builds and Renovations.
However the Government have made it very appealing to do exactly that, replace your current Boiler with an Air Source Heat Pump. With the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) scheme along with our Boiler scrappage scheme you can get up to £13,400 back when you make the switch to an Air Source Heat Pump.
Whether you’re a New Build or you have an existing gas or oil boiler, we’ll all have to change to change to renewables eventually, you may as well take advantage of the government grants while they’re here.
